Actually had to back out of this one, because too much of the relationship between the hero and heroine in the first quarter of the book was focused on the desire to humiliate the other. And, props to Milan for effective writing, the humiliation was pretty visceral - hence the backing out. The problem is not the competence of Milan's writing; it's the scenario and characters she's chosen to write that I find so off-putting. Also, the hero's callousness, if not outright cruelty, to his cousin as well as the heroine was enough to make me not want him to get a happy ending, no matter how much he groveled or how much the heroine stood up for herself at the end. Blergh.
